Band News
| 10/15/05 | What's New: Well, as Rick Derringer used to say, "Every now and then it's kind of hard to tell/ But I'm still alive and well." The same could be said of Azmodius. Yes, the band itself has been pretty much inactive lately, and we thought it was time for an updated explanation. The band members are currently trying to get their personal lives in some sort of order (and those of you who know us know this is no mean feat!). Vinny in particular has been busy as all get-out, with his new job as a newspaper reporter. He is reportedly enjoying his job thoroughly, though he has unfortunately had little time for musical adventures lately. As a result, both Azmodius and Vinny's Electric Phase side project have been on hold for the last few weeks. This, however, may change, as the members of Azmodius have been in touch with each other recently. Their schedules are gradually starting to clear up, and they are all getting the itch to play again. Yes, after months of near-complete silence, the strains of future classics like "Nightlife" and "Firewater" may soon be heard again, emanating from a dive near you. By the way, check out the Album page, if you have not already done so! We are now accepting PayPal payments for album purchases, making the whole thing easier for customers worldwide! |
| 04/22/05 | Hello again! Sorry for the lack of news updates lately, folk! Those of you who have checked regularly, however, may have noticed that one major change has been made on the site: Specifically, the long-promised mp3 files are finally up on the album page. We actually tried to post news about that a few weeks ago, but we had some technical difficulties that not only prevented our update from displaying, but also erased our previous update (from December). Anyway, enough excuses already! What's new? Well, Azmodius are currently taking a break from gigging, but rest assured, they will return to the fold, and when they do, things will be different.... Very different. The band is undergoing a major overhaul, which the members hope will drastically improve their sound. Watch this space for more details. Also, as we mentioned earlier, Vinny is working on a solo project with a good friend of ours, Jonathan Gadoury of the Massachusetts-based Christian hard rock band Irenic. Their band/ project, tentatively named Electric Phase, will incorporate elements of both Azmodius and Irenic, but will also add a strong vintage European heavy metal (aka EuroMetal) flavor, drawing influences from bands such as Scorpions, Judas Priest, Accept and Heaven And Hell-era Black Sabbath. Click here for your first taste of their collaboration: a rough demo of the song "Inside This Destiny." Enjoy!

Hello! Big news for the Summer of 2004. First, as we mentioned earlier, the Azmodius EP is finally here. Check out the "Album" page to find out more about the album and how to buy it. Playing catch-up here, we also want to let you know that in addition to the two gigs posted on the site earlier, the band played a secret show at Newport Creamery in Coventry. Yes, you read that right! The band performed outside Adam's place of employment during a Family Night event, entertaining whatever suburban clientele happened to show up. Thanks to the Creamery staff and all who showed up to the gig. We had a great time! Also, Vinny is back after a couple of weeks taking care of business out of town, and is beginning work on a solo project. More details on that as they become finalized. |

Hope everybody has survived winter okay so far. A
lot is happening in the land of Azmodius. First and foremost, we are proud
to announce the band's return to the stage, set to take place in April.
The band has been busy writing new material, which they plan on trying out
in front of audiences at the upcoming gigs. There are two confirmed gigs
so far, and back to back with each other, which the band has never done
before. They are:Thursday, April 22nd at Jarrod's Place
and
Friday, April 23rd at the good ol' 305 Club.
Hope to see you there. The 305 gig is a co-headlining deal with Vinny's
former band, Metal Rising. The Jarrod's gig is our first gig outside of Rhode
Island, and as it is our first appearance there, we really need to bring
in heads! So come on down, and tell your friends. They won't want to miss
it either! On another note, Vinny and Jamieson have begun working on an as-yet unnamed solo project with drummer extraordinaire Peter Parravano. Oh, and Vinny recently lent his recording talents, to the aforementioned Metal Rising, the band in which he briefly served as rhythm guitarist. Not sure what will come of these recordings, but Vinny says they sound pretty damn good.

| 12/20/03 | We're back! Hey there! Long time, no see, huh? As usual, a lot has been happening in the world of Azmodius lately (including nothing, at certain points in time). But we have some important information to pass on to anyone interested in Azmodius. First, after two months of near-silence from their amps, the band are preparing to take to the stage again, at the good ol' 305! (After the previous cancellations, we felt that we really owed them one.... the club's been good to us!) And this is not just any gig, but a special New Year's Eve bash with Azmodius and friends! As for the much-delayed album, you may be able to lay your hands on it soon! In fact, we are hoping to press some special pre-release copies on vinyl (well, not really), and send the thing off to be properly pressed by the end of the year (really!). So make time to check on the band on New Year's Eve, and you could be among the first to see, hear and feel the fabled Azmodius EP! Happy Holidays to all, and a Happy New Year, especially to anyone who shows up at the gig! See ya!

| 08/28/03 | We apologize for this, but the gig at the 305 Club has been cancelled due to some organizational problems in the Azmodius camp (in no way is this the fault of the 305). Sorry for the disappointment, but we do plan on re-scheduling the gig as soon as the aforementioned organizational problems are straightened out. When the band does return to the stage, be prepared for a treat, as some cool new original tunes are being fleshed out as you read this. |
| 08/15/03 | Hey, 'bout time for an update huh? Well, as expected, the CATS gig was pretty damn cool. We will be playing there again soon. Even sooner, however, is our next gig at the 305 Club (September 5). By the way, Vinny is now serving as rhythm guitarist for Metal Rising, a 100% true metal band formed by former members of Thor's Thunder. That band will be making its live debut the following week (September 13) at the good ol' 305. There is also a distinct possibility of the two bands playing a show together in the near future. How 'bout it, folks? Also, we were saddened to learn that the mighty JIYA recently broke up. However, guitarist Don McCann informs us that he will have a pretty snazzy new project ready to kick your complacent ass in the near future. Meanwhile, back in Azmodiusland, the band has been busy polishing up a new song, "Talking To The Wall" which they hope to add to the live set soon. It's a heavy, complex, but bluesy number in typical Azmodius fashion, with a couple of twists and turns. Should make a fine live number. Look for it in the live set soon!

| 06/30/03 | Those of you who are particularly observant will notice that some changes have taken place here. First, Kevin Lisinski is no longer in the band. For reasons best known to themselves, he and Azmodius have parted ways. Also for reasons best known to themselves, the band were forced to cancel last Friday's gig at the 305. Actually, we will let you know the reason for that: all was going well until Vinny came down with a nasty illness and was hospitalized for the weekend. However, he is recovering well, and the band is getting geared up for a major gig at CATS in Pawtucket, with Jiya and others. As for the singer problem, it looks like we have that taken care of, as there is a new face in Azmodiusland, with a killer voice to match. Please welcome our new frontman, Crazy Glenn! The recently settled lead singer debacle obviously affects plans for releasing our already-delayed album, but be patient. It will come! In the mean time, come check us out at CATS. This could very well be the coolest gig we have played so far! |
| 05/20/03 | Okay, a few developments are taking place in Azmodiusland once again, folks! First, we should let you know that there are a couple of slight changes in our concert schedule (see Tour Dates page for further details). A couple of weeks ago, we were stunned to learn that local metallists Thor's Thunder have broken up. This, of course, means that Azmodius will not be playing with them at CATS this month, but we are organizing another date for ourselves at the club. Also, next week will see us opening for our talented friends, Jiya! Also, we apologize for this, but there has been another delay in the recording of our debut album. Just as Adam and Kevin were preparing to lay down the finishing touches on their parts, Vinny's family ended up moving to a different part of town, and with them went the recording gear we were using to finish the album. Here's a brief statement from Vinny on the issue: "Dear friends, Thank you for your patience in this most unpredictable time. The new house is being worked on, as there were a couple of leaks and things found. I am apologize to our many fans who have been waiting for the album to come out, and I promise we will finish it.....as soon as we get these damn boxes out of the way! -Vinny In the meantime, we will be posting short clips of songs that will appear on the album. These are rough mixes, so don't get to worried if the sound isn't perfect. Enjoy!

| 04/01/03 | Well, as Jim Ladd used to say, Whoo-ya! A lot has been happening in the last couple of months. Again, we apologize for the lack of updates recently. Anyway, a couple of major news items deserve mentioning here. First, the much-talked-about debut album from Azmodius is in its final stages. Vinny and Jamieson have finished recording their parts; Adam and Kevin are putting the finishing touches on theirs, and should be done in the next couple of weeks. Also, as we alluded to earlier, a very talented local musician came in to lend a hand. (drum roll please....) Give it up for one of the most talented guitar players we've yet seen, Mr. Mike Rodenbaugh! As you will soon hear on the album, Mike absolutely smokes! You can check out his website via the links page, which we have just updated. Thanks Mike! Second, we have also begun work on the packaging of the album and are considering various ways of pressing it to meet high quality standards without breaking the bank (remember, we're still working for a living). We are thinking of starting a poll to see which album people think will see the light of day first: the fabled self-titled debut mini-album from Azmodius, or Guns 'n' Roses' similarly elusive Chinese Democracy. Hmm..... tough call, but we think we can beat them to the punch...he he he..... Also, the band performed their first headlining show at the 305 Club, and the club management must have thought the band were doing okay, because Azmodius are already booked there again! Twice! See the slowly but steadily growing Tour Dates page for more info. Finally, a moment of silence for the Station Concert Club and the hundreds of unfortunate souls killed or injured in the fire on the night of Great White's performance their. We always loved that place (Vinny and Adam in particular) and knew there was never a shortage of wonderful people hanging around there. Rest In Peace. Also, note of support for our troops in the Middle East. Several of us know people stationed in Iraq, Kuwait and other places. Pray for our young men and women, and any innocent civilians in any part of the world affected by this tragic turn of events. We hope and pray for our servicemen and women's safe return home. |
| 01/10/03 | Hey, sorry about the lack of updates lately, folks. We actually tried to post one a couple of weeks ago, but due to technical difficulties, it never quite made it onto the site. Anyway, there's lots of cool stuff happening. As was announced last year, Azmodius played their first ever gig (not counting a rather lame coffeehouse last Spring) at the 305 Club in East Providence, opening for emerging local heroes Thor's Thunder. The X-mas Shredfest, as it was called, was a rousing success. Both bands were in pretty damn good form, and rocked the place most riotously! Azmodius went down so well, in fact, that the club has already invited them to come back some time next month. We will post the date here as soon as it is confirmed. Another gig with Thor's Thunder has already been confirmed, at Pawtucket's prestigious CATS nightclub. Check the Tour Dates page for more info. Also, although we never got around to announcing it, the band's first single, "Fight For The Right" is now available. We sold several advance copies at the gig last month/ year....all sold out. More copies are being pressed as you read this, and can be ordered by contacting the band at: azmodius@baconbit.net. The cost is just $2 (that's right, just two measly, stinkin' dollars!) per copy, plus shipping, so, like, what are you waiting for?!?!?!?!? As for the actual album, it is nearly done. We have recorded five of the tracks (plus the single's B-side, "Too Much OF A Good Thing") so far. Once again we have a surprise guest musician coming in to lay down some special little extras on the album (more details to be revealed later). Moreover, "Too Much Of A Good Thing" features Jiya's exemplary lead guitarist dueling alongside Vinny. Hats off to our long-time friend, Mr. Don McCann! Finally, since you wonderful, patient people have waited so long for the fabled Azmodius album, the band is considering recording a couple of extra tracks to make it eight songs long instead of just the six originally planned. But don't worry, it won't take another eight months! Once again, we thank you for your patience. We hope you'll agree it has been worth the wait. Happy New Year!

| 11/11/02 | Big news in Azmodiusland here folks! First of all, this page has been given another overhaul (including the Tour Dates page!!!), as you may have noticed, to make it more user-friendly and more fun! Furthermore, wait, hold your breath, hear it comes......... Azmodius music! Yes, the day is coming....err... well actually the days are coming! Believe it or not, the band has made substantial progress on recording the fabled debut album. And it will be good, believe us! Half of the tunes are near completion, with more recording to commence tomorrow! Moreover, the single is nearly complete, and should be ready in time for Thanksgiving. We are hoping to have the album out by the end of the year. Honest! On a recreational note, Adam, Vinaya and Jimbo (a.k.a. the Bitmaster) recently made one of the most sacred of Rock 'n' Roll pilgrimages: trekking all the way to Hartford to see one of rock's greatest live acts, Thin Lizzy! Suffice to say, the show absolutely smoked! You can see Vinny and Adam hangin' out with Scott Gorham (one of Vinny's all-time favorite guitar players) on Vinny's bio page. You can imagine what a treat this was for us! Thanks to Scott and the rest of Thin Lizzy for a lifetime of great music, and one unforgettable night! |

Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet?!?!?!? Well, no the much-anticipated debut album is not ready yet. However, those of you who have been waiting patiently to hear some material from us will be pleased to hear that the demo has in fact been started. Note: Although we reported way back when that the demo was started back in the Spring, it turned out to be a false alarm, as we weren't satisfied with the results and decided to start from scratch. Because of this (combined with multiple job-related set-backs and distractions among band members), the demo has in fact only been in the recording stage for a little over a week. Keep in mind too, that "a little over a week" does not mean a solid week worth of recording, but sporadic efforts between classes and job shifts. But enough excuses already. We have completed most of our parts for the first song (with a surprise guest musician due to come in and help polish it off), and have the rest of the songs ready to be fired off in the next couple of weeks. But take heart, because you won't have to wait until this ridiculously laborious process is over. As we mentioned before, we will release an advance single before the album comes out. More importantly, we have dug up an early demo version of "Fight For The Right," which is now available for download (see main page). Enjoy! Oh, and another thing: Kevin and Vinny recently gave an informal (read: half-assed) performance at a local coffeehouse in their home town of Warren. So, until that fine day when the fabled Azmodius album hits town, keep an eye out for the band (or whatever combination of band members happens to be available), because they may be coming soon to a watering hole near you!

We, like the rest of the rock community, are saddened to hear of the recent death of John Entwistle. John was a major source of inspiration to multiple generations of musicians, (including our own bass player, Jamieson). Rest in Peace, John. You'll be missed by many. Best wishes to all as we celebrate the birthday of America. Hope everyone enjoyed the Fourth! Once again, keep your eyes on this page for live show dates in the near future. We are also toying with the idea of releasing some sort of tribute to John Entwistle in the near future. Finally, all guitarists, please check the main page for important news if you have not done so already. *We have just given this page another major overhaul. And we mean major! The whole thing! Lotsa neat new stuff! Check it out and enjoy! |

Damn! Are we delinquent or what?!?!??! We know, we know, we promised to update this page regularly, yet it's been more than two months since we last did. Anyway, time to rectify the situation! The demo is progressing slowly but surely. As some of you know, we are all still in school, and the academic year is finished, so we finally have some time on our hands! Adam has an engagement in Washington D.C. (!) this week. After that, it's back to the multi-track grind (just kidding, we love doing this. Honest!). On that note, there has been a slight change of plans regarding the release of the album. We want to take our time and make this the best demo we can (no, that's not the change of plans!), so bear with us. It will be worth it! In the meantime, we are planning to release "Fight For The Right', one of our flagship tracks as a single, with a surprise b-side (well, maybe not so surprising to those who know us well!). There is also a possibility of some small-scale live shows during the summer. We'll keep you posted as progress continues! *We have just given this page another overhaul. Check out Jamieson's bio page and the newly expanded Links page, which now features links to the websites of our favorite bands!

Hello, and welcome to our humble abode on ye olde Web. We apologize for not updating this page for so long, but now we are ready to proceed and provide you with a proper source of information on Azmodius. Check back frequently for updates on the band's activities. From now on, we will update this page regularly, we promise! For eons, many of our close friends have been asking "When is the band going to make a demo?....But you said that last year...." Well, we are happy to inform you that (finally!) the day is coming. As you may or may not know, vocalist Kevin Lisinki recently joined the band, thus completing the lineup. Things have been progressing quite smoothly as of late, and we have been writing like mad. We have selected six songs to appear on our first demo, with recording scheduled to commence on Tuesday, March 12, and if time permits, we may record more tracks, but we're getting ahead of ourselves here. Check back for updates on the band's progress. Thanks for your support. Finally, we would like to extend a huge thank you to our friend and webmaster Jim "Big Cheese" Armstrong, without whom none of this would be possible and our lives would be miserable, etc., etc.... |
